Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Igbajo after unrest broke out overnight and continued into Monday morning.

The government said the violence followed rising tensions in the community after the death of Prince Adegboyega Famodun last week.

The curfew, announced by Information Commissioner Kolapo Alimi, takes effect immediately and will remain until calm is fully restored. Adeleke condemned the disturbances and warned residents and visitors to avoid actions that could worsen the situation.

He directed security agencies—including the Army, Police, DSS and NSCDC—to maintain round-the-clock surveillance in the town. The governor said his administration would not tolerate any breakdown of law and order anywhere in Osun.
Adeleke also extended condolences to the Famodun family and the people of Igbajo over the loss of the community leader.
