The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party aligned with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has scheduled emergency meetings of the party’s Board of Trustees and National Executive Committee for Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The notice, issued by factional National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu and circulated through the minister’s media aide, directs members to gather at the NEC Hall of the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja. The BoT session is slated for 11 a.m., while the NEC meeting will start at 2 p.m.
The announcement comes just days after the party’s Ibadan convention expelled Wike, Anyanwu, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, former National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade and several others. Delegates at the convention backed a motion moved by Bode George and seconded by Bauchi PDP Chairman Samaila Buga, sealing the expulsion of the affected members over alleged anti-party activity.
The planned meetings are expected to address the fallout from the convention and shape the faction’s response to the sweeping expulsions. Members were told the gathering will focus on crucial matters that require urgent attention.
