Former House of Representatives member, Bimbo Daramola, has expressed confidence that Governor Biodun Oyebanji will secure victory in the October 27 All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries in Ekiti State.

Speaking to journalists in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday, Daramola said Oyebanji has enjoyed broad support and endorsements from stakeholders across the state, positioning him for success in both the primaries and the June 20, 2026 governorship election.

He dismissed suggestions that the governor was unsettled by the contest, saying Oyebanji’s record in office over the past three years and his peaceful approach to politics give him an edge.

“A man who has said bring the primary on is afraid? Who is afraid? No! Governor Oyebanji is not jittery about anybody,” Daramola said.

The former lawmaker, who represented Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1 between 2011 and 2015, also condemned attempts to link the governor to political violence, stressing that Oyebanji had consistently spoken against it, citing his recent statewide broadcast and peace appeals at various public events.

On his BAO Walk initiative, which he started earlier this year, Daramola said it has drawn more than 30,000 residents across seven local government areas and is personally funded to mobilise support for Oyebanji’s re-election.

“My interest is Oyebanji. I can give anything for love,” he said.
