The family of Muhammed Babangida has debunked claims that he turned down his recent appointment by President Bola Tinubu as Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture.
A letter circulated online had alleged that Babangida declined the role, citing personal and professional reasons that would hinder his full commitment to the position.
But in a swift response, Mr. Determine Saka, Lead Partner at Lambert and Curtis Nigeria Limited, described the letter as fake and the product of mischief-makers.
“Our attention has been drawn to a certain letter currently in circulation, indicating that Mr. Muhammed Babangida declined his appointment… Not only is the letter fake but mischievous,” Saka said.
He stressed that Babangida holds President Tinubu in high regard and views the appointment as a national honour. According to him, Babangida fully supports the president’s reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda and remains committed to serving Nigeria.
The statement urged the public to disregard the viral letter and avoid falling for politically motivated falsehoods.
