Former Super Eagles captain and coach, Sunday Oliseh, is grieving the loss of his younger brother, Uche Oliseh, who died from malaria complications at age 51.
The family announced the passing in a statement on Saturday, revealing that Uche died on June 17. Describing him as kind-hearted and full of life, the family said he was a devoted father of four and a beloved member of the Oliseh household.
Uche is survived by his parents, siblings—including Sunday Oliseh and Churchill Oliseh—and his children.
In a heartfelt message posted on X (formerly Twitter), Sunday expressed his deep pain, writing: “It hurts so bad, like I have never felt before.” He said his brother died after a brief battle with malaria and added, “I have over a million things that I would wanna talk, laugh and do with Uche, but sadly I cannot anymore.”
The family has asked for continued prayers and support as they go through this difficult time.
