The Presidency has clarified that the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council list for the 2027 election remains valid, although some changes may still be made to accommodate additional members.
Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, made this known on Wednesday during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.
Dare was reacting to reports that the APC had withdrawn the campaign council list following criticism over the inclusion of some political figures and the omission of others.
He explained that the list had not been withdrawn and that the party would only make adjustments where necessary as the campaign structure develops.
According to him, several subcommittees are yet to be established, creating opportunities for more political leaders and stakeholders to be included in the overall campaign structure.
He said the existing list should therefore not be regarded as final because additional names could be added when the various subcommittees are constituted.
Dare maintained that the APC had already clarified its position and confirmed that the campaign council list remained in effect.
The presidential aide, however, distinguished between making adjustments to the list and conducting a full review of its composition.

He explained that the changes expected would not amount to an overhaul of the entire campaign council.
The APC had earlier rejected reports that the 2027 presidential campaign council list had been withdrawn.
The list, which was announced over the weekend, named President Bola Tinubu as chairman of the council, while Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda were designated as vice chairmen.
Former Zamfara State Governor and Senator, Abdul’aziz Yari, was appointed Director-General of the campaign council, while Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, was named secretary.
Dare said the establishment of additional committees would allow the party to bring more individuals into the campaign structure without necessarily altering the core leadership already announced.
He reiterated that the list was not fixed permanently and could be modified when circumstances required.
The clarification comes amid reactions from various political groups and individuals following the announcement of the campaign council, with some stakeholders questioning the composition of the structure and calling for broader representation.
Dare, however, maintained that the expected changes should be viewed as normal adjustments rather than evidence that the APC had reconsidered or abandoned the existing campaign council.
