The National Assembly has suspended all legislative sessions in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday in London at the age of 82.

The decision came on Monday through an official statement issued by the Clerk to the Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana.

Both the Senate and House of Representatives have agreed to pause all plenary activities and related legislative duties until Tuesday, July 22. The move is a tribute to Buhari’s long-standing role in Nigeria’s leadership, spanning military and democratic eras.
