Tinubu Urges Okpebholo To Unite Edo After Court Victory

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, after the Supreme Court affirmed his election victory on Thursday.

Governor Okpebholo had been declared winner of the September 21, 2024 governorship poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The court ruling put an end to legal challenges against his election, giving him the green light to focus fully on governing.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the President urged Governor Okpebholo to embrace all segments of Edo society and govern with fairness. He encouraged the governor to put politics behind him and channel all efforts into advancing the state’s progress.

Tinubu noted that with legal distractions now out of the way, the time has come to deepen the pace of governance and service delivery. He expressed confidence in Okpebholo’s ability to fulfill his promises and move the state forward.

The President also extended his congratulations to members and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State for their role in securing the mandate. He called on them to stay united and focused on meeting the expectations of the people.
