A prominent politician in Enugu State, Prince Ikechukwu Oloto, popularly known as Okanga Moo, has reportedly been killed by unknown gunmen in Nsukka Local Government Area.
Oloto was allegedly attacked at his residence in Odenigbo, Nsukka, on Thursday evening.
Reports circulating on social media indicated that the attackers used a knife during the assault, although details surrounding the incident have not been independently established.
The circumstances that led to the attack remain unclear, while the identities of the perpetrators and their possible motive have yet to be determined.
The incident was also reported by social media influencer Senator Chijinkem Ugwuanyi in a Facebook post. He stated that Oloto was killed at his residence in Odenigbo on Thursday evening.
Ugwuanyi further alleged that the politician suffered severe injuries during the attack.
Oloto’s death has caused concern among residents and political associates in Nsukka, particularly as political activities and preparations for the 2027 general elections continue across Enugu State.
However, there is currently no confirmed information linking the killing to the forthcoming election or establishing a political motive for the attack.
As of the time of filing this report, the Enugu State Police Command had not issued an official statement confirming the death or providing details about any investigation into the incident.
