The former Vice-President said the meeting also drew attention to the need for political leaders and others seeking changes in Nigeria to place the welfare and future of citizens at the centre of their efforts.

According to Atiku, Nigerian families are facing growing economic pressure as the cost of essential goods and services continues to affect household budgets.

He listed food, transportation, education and healthcare among areas where rising costs have placed additional pressure on families across the country.

Atiku said Nigerians need an economy that creates opportunities, rewards hard work and enables families to live with dignity and hope.

He added that addressing the difficulties facing citizens would require collective action to reduce the economic burden and rebuild confidence in the country.

The meeting comes as political activities and consultations increase ahead of the 2027 general election, with Atiku and other opposition figures involved in discussions on the political direction of the country.

Aisha Buhari, who served as First Lady between 2015 and 2023, has remained involved in public activities since leaving office. Her visit to Atiku comes amid growing political engagements involving major figures ahead of the next presidential election.
