The governor arrived at about 5:25pm in a navy blue traditional outfit and was seen carrying a walking stick as he stepped out of a black Toyota Land Cruiser SUV.

He was accompanied to the Presidential Villa by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

The meeting comes shortly after Tinubu personally congratulated Adeleke on his victory in the governorship election.

Tinubu had, in his congratulatory message, described Adeleke’s re-election as an indication that democratic governance remained strong in the country. The President also urged the governor to work with residents across political lines and promote unity in Osun State.

Adeleke defeated his closest rival, the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, in the election to secure another term as governor of the state.

The meeting between the two politicians is coming against the backdrop of intense political activities surrounding the Osun election and growing preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Four other Osun officials were also seen arriving at the Presidential Villa shortly after Adeleke.

Those who accompanied the governor include the Director-General of his Campaign Council, Senator Lere Oyewumi; a member of the council, Sunday Bisi; the Osun State Chief of Staff, Akinleye Kazeem; and the member of the House of Representatives representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency, Bamidele Salam.

The purpose and details of the closed-door meeting had not been made public at the time of the report.

The engagement marks the first known face-to-face meeting between Tinubu and Adeleke since the Osun governorship election, which ended with the incumbent governor retaining his position.
