Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Nureni Adeniran, as the presidential campaign coordinator of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in the state ahead of the 2027 general election.

The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday in Ibadan by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr Suleimon Olanrewaju.

According to the statement, Adeniran will also serve as the Director-General of the APM Governorship Campaign Council in Oyo State.
The party has already presented former Commissioner for Finance, Bimbo Adekanmbi, who served during the administration of the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, as its governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
Makinde also approved the appointment of other members of the campaign council to strengthen the party’s preparations for the polls.
Former Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, Saheed Arowosaye, was named deputy presidential campaign coordinator, while the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Demola Ojo, will serve as Deputy Director-General for the southern zone.
The statement added that Governor Makinde, who is the APM presidential candidate, is expected to formally inaugurate the campaign council on Friday.
The inauguration will take place at the conference room of the Governor’s Office in Ibadan as the party begins its campaign activities in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 elections.
