The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has assured members and supporters that the party has moved beyond the period of uncertainty created by prolonged legal disputes, stating that it is rebuilding and will return stronger.

The Chairman of the PDP BoT, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday. He said the judgment delivered by the Federal High Court last Friday should convince those who are still unwilling to accept the party’s current leadership and direction to reconsider their position.

Senator Ohuabunwa welcomed the Federal High Court’s decision, describing it as being consistent with an earlier judgment delivered by the Supreme Court.

He stated that, as the conscience and moral compass of the party, the Board of Trustees fully accepts and respects the Federal High Court judgment and will continue to uphold the rule of law.
The PDP BoT chairman also described anyone claiming to be the Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees without authority as a criminal impersonator, adding that such individuals would soon face legal action.
Senator Ohuabunwa called on party leaders to embrace reconciliation and work together, saying the PDP must remain focused on strengthening its internal structures to improve its chances in the 2027 general elections.
He assured party members and supporters that the necessary measures would be taken to further strengthen the party’s unity, stability and readiness for future electoral contests.
