President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, described Obi as a “miracle centre presidential candidate” while reacting to comments the former Anambra State governor made during an interview.

Speaking with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Obi said he would only agree to debate Umahi after the minister becomes the presidential candidate of a political party. His response came after Umahi said he was prepared to publicly debate Obi on the state of road infrastructure in Nigeria.

Reacting in a post on X, Bwala questioned how Obi became a presidential candidate, arguing that he did not emerge through a presidential primary election.

Bwala asked whether Obi had ever taken part in any presidential primary before contesting for the office. He also wondered why Obi was questioning Umahi’s qualifications when, according to him, the minister had served as a successful governor and is now performing in his current role.

The presidential aide ended his remarks by referring to Obi as a “miracle centre presidential candidate,” suggesting that his emergence as a presidential flag bearer did not follow the normal primary election process.
