Plateau Attack Leaves 19 Dead In Late Night Attack

At least 19 people have been killed after armed men stormed Kawel village in Mushere District of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State during a night attack that left residents in panic.

The incident reportedly happened around 11:40 p.m. on Sunday when gunmen entered the community and opened fire on sleeping residents, forcing survivors to run into nearby bushes for safety.

Local accounts from residents and youth leaders confirmed that more than 19 people died while several others sustained injuries during the assault, which was described as sudden and violent.

Security agencies were alerted shortly after the attack, but as of press time, police authorities and Operation Safe Haven had not released any official statement on the incident.
