Oyebanji Is Ekiti’s Worst Governor – ADC Candidate

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Dare Bejide, has rejected the outcome of the June 20, 2026 election and described Governor Biodun Oyebanji as the worst-performing leader in the state’s history since its creation in 1996.

He made the remarks while reacting to the poll results, insisting that the election was affected by vote buying and other irregular practices across several parts of the state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress winner after he polled 319,224 votes, defeating Peoples Democratic Party candidate Wole Oluyede, who scored 40,543 votes, while Bejide came third with 12,872 votes.

Bejide argued that despite higher state revenue in recent years, the administration had not delivered enough infrastructure or basic services, claiming that conditions in the state had worsened in areas such as roads, water supply and security.
