Yoruba Union Slams Tinubu Over Kidnapee Victims Rescue Priority

The Yoruba socio-cultural group Ìgbìnmó Májékóbájé Ilé-Yorùbá has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of showing unequal concern in its response to kidnapping cases across the country, following the rescue of the sister of Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu and her twin children.

The group said while it welcomed the release of the minister’s relatives, it was troubled that dozens of abducted schoolchildren and teachers in different parts of the country remain in captivity without similar urgency from authorities.

It claimed that the situation reflects a pattern where victims linked to influential figures receive quicker attention, while ordinary Nigerians affected by mass abductions are left behind.

The organisation also expressed concern over the continued captivity of schoolchildren and other victims in different states.


The group called on government and security agencies to treat all abducted citizens equally and intensify rescue operations nationwide, insisting that the safety of Nigerians should not depend on status or political connection.
