DSS Arraigns Man Over Alleged Coup Post On Tinubu
The Department of State Services on Monday arraigned a man, Paul Jibrin Oweleke, before the Federal High Court in Lagos over allegations linked to a social media post calling for a military coup against President Bola Tinubu.
He was brought before the court on accusations that he used online platforms to advocate the removal of the president through unconstitutional means.
Authorities said the post raised national security concerns and triggered investigation.
The DSS maintained that the defendant’s actions violated laws governing cyber-related offences and threats to national order.
The agency said such messages could incite unrest and undermine democratic governance.
The case was adjourned by the court for further hearing, while the accused is expected to remain in custody pending the next legal proceedings.
