No Security, No Votes – Kwara North

A civil society coalition in Kwara North has launched a campaign demanding that political parties and aspirants present clear security plans before seeking support for the 2027 elections.

The movement, led by the Save Kwara North Group, is spreading across Baruten, Kaiama, Moro, Edu and Patigi local government areas.

The campaign comes as many communities continue to struggle with kidnappings, attacks and other security threats.

Organisers say residents have suffered years of fear, displacement and economic hardship, making security the most urgent issue ahead of the next election cycle.

According to the group, politicians must move beyond campaign promises and explain how they intend to protect lives, support farmers, improve schools and create opportunities for young people.

The coalition believes voters should judge candidates based on practical solutions rather than political slogans.

As part of the initiative, volunteers are being mobilised to promote political awareness and accountability across the district.

The group said its message is simple: leaders seeking votes must first show how they plan to restore safety and improve the lives of residents.
