Senate To Decide On Tinubu’s NDDC Board Pick
President Bola Tinubu has asked the senate to confirm the appointment of Zainab Marwa as a member of the governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission.
The request is part of ongoing changes in key federal agencies under the current administration.
The letter was presented during plenary on Thursday by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who formally read out the president’s request to lawmakers.
The upper chamber is expected to review the nomination in line with its legislative duties.
If confirmed, Marwa will join other board members tasked with overseeing development projects in the Niger Delta region.
The NDDC plays a key role in managing infrastructure and social programmes across oil producing communities.
The senate is yet to set a date for the screening and confirmation process as discussions on the nomination continue.
Lawmakers are expected to consider the request alongside other pending appointments before the chamber.
