Wike Rejects PDP Alliance Claims
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has dismissed reports of a political alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party and the Allied Peoples Movement.
Speaking during an inspection of road projects in Kwali Area Council, Abuja, on Thursday, he described the claim as “Political 419.”
Wike accused Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde of misleading Nigerians ahead of the 2027 elections.
He insisted that neither the PDP nor the Independent National Electoral Commission recognised any agreement involving the APM and maintained that the PDP remained independent.
The minister also claimed Makinde was pursuing his presidential ambition through the APM platform.
According to him, ongoing PDP activities, including the screening of aspirants, showed there was no coalition arrangement within the opposition party.
Wike further reacted to comments surrounding Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s membership of the APC.
He said Fubara had repeatedly stated that he remained in the ruling party and insisted that any issue concerning the governor was an internal APC matter.
