Kano Ex Chairmen Support Tinubu Second Term
Twenty-one former local government chairmen in Kano State have declared support for the second-term ambitions of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Deputy Senate President Barau I. Jibrin ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement came during a meeting held in Kano.
The former council chairmen said they were satisfied with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, claiming the policies were already bringing improvements in infrastructure and economic activities across Northern Nigeria.
They added that continuity would help sustain ongoing reforms and development projects.
The group also praised Governor Yusuf’s administration, pointing to ongoing infrastructural projects and people-focused programmes under his “Kano First” agenda.
According to them, residents across different parts of the state were already benefiting from the governor’s policies.
On Senator Barau, the ex-chairmen described him as a major force in Kano North, citing his empowerment programmes, education support, road projects and job opportunities.
They pledged to begin grassroots mobilisation across Kano State to secure victory for all candidates of their party in 2027.
