Malami is challenging a ruling by the Federal High Court concerning the forfeiture of 57 properties allegedly connected to unlawful activities.

The case followed an interim forfeiture order earlier secured by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

During proceedings in Abuja, Malami’s lawyer argued that the delay in filing the appeal was caused by the time taken to obtain certified copies of the lower court ruling.

He maintained that the appeal process followed legal procedure and asked the appellate court to grant the application.

The EFCC opposed the request and urged the court to dismiss it, insisting that the matter should proceed without further delays.

After listening to both sides, the appellate court reserved its ruling on the application.
