The Central Bank of Nigeria has raised the alarm over rising cyber fraud targeting Nigerians.

The warning, issued on April 21, 2026, follows reports of fake bank alerts and scam messages circulating online. Officials say the move is aimed at protecting users of digital financial services.

According to the bank, fraudsters are sending deceptive emails, texts and online posts falsely linked to the institution.
