El Rufai Gets Bail After mother’s Death

The decision was taken by the anti-corruption agency handling his case. She passed away in Cairo after a period of illness.
The release allows him attend burial rites with his family.
The development followed his recent detention over corruption and money laundering allegations. His son confirmed the release, saying it came at a difficult time for the family.
The late matriarch was said to be about 100 years old. Her death came shortly after another loss within the family.
Tributes came from key figures, including Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar. They described her as a respected woman who raised a strong family.
Leaders also offered prayers and support to those she left behind.
El-Rufai’s legal case remains ongoing despite the temporary release. He had earlier been arraigned in court, with proceedings expected to continue soon.
