The incident came shortly after renewed attacks linked to Boko Haram in nearby communities, raising fresh fears across the city.

Witnesses described scenes of confusion as emergency teams rushed in and victims were moved to hospitals for urgent care.

Police spokesperson Nahum Daso confirmed the explosions at the hospital gate and Post Office area, but said reports of another blast at Monday Market were yet to be verified.

Authorities began immediate checks to understand the full scale of the situation.

Casualty figures were still unclear late Monday, though many injured persons were seen receiving treatment.

Officials, including aide Dauda Iliya, said efforts were ongoing to confirm details, as concerns grow over rising attacks linked to Islamic State West Africa Province in the region.
