Rumours Rock Jigawa Politics
The All Progressives Congress Jigawa Integrity Group has dismissed claims that former governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has left the party for the African Democratic Congress.
The group said the allegation was false and aimed at damaging the reputation of the former Defence Minister.
The group’s spokesman, Comrade Auwal Shuaibu Gumel, released the statement in Kano while reacting to reports circulating online.
He accused the Coalition of Grassroots Democrats of spreading misleading information about Badaru’s political loyalty.
According to the group, the former governor remains committed to the APC and has no plans to abandon the party he helped strengthen over the years.
It also rejected claims that Badaru had fallen out with Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The statement added that Badaru still holds strong political influence in Jigawa and across northern Nigeria.
It also recalled his role in supporting the emergence of Umar Namadi as governor, while warning political actors against spreading false reports about his political future.
