The matter was scheduled for hearing, but the court could not move forward when officials confirmed that the suspects were still in custody and had not been transported.

Lawyers present expressed concern over the repeated delays surrounding the case.

The judge adjourned the hearing to a later date, warning that continued failure to produce the defendants could further slow the search for justice.

The court noted that such lapses undermine public confidence in the judicial process.

Maduagwu’s killing had drawn national attention, with calls for accountability from media groups and rights advocates.

The latest setback has renewed worries over how long the case may take to reach conclusion.
