The closed-door talks were part of moves to ease tensions that have lingered for months.
The meeting followed growing concern over the prolonged power struggle in the oil-rich state.
Those familiar with the discussion said the Presidency is pushing for peace and stability, with the talks seen as another attempt to bring both sides back to the table.
After the meeting, Fubara was said to have accompanied Wike to his Abuja residence.
Although no official statement has been released, sources say more meetings may follow as the Presidency works to prevent further tension in a state seen as vital to the Niger Delta’s political and economic balance.
