In the early hours of February 1, the Nigerian Air Force carried out coordinated airstrikes against armed bandits in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The operation followed fresh intelligence on the movement of criminal groups threatening nearby communities.

Residents in the area reported loud explosions during the operation, with security officials confirming that many of the bandits were neutralised while others fled under pressure from the air assault.

The action forms part of wider security efforts by the military to weaken bandit networks across the North-West and restore a sense of safety to communities that have faced repeated attacks.
