Oyo Shuts Offices for Big Day
In Oyo State, the government has authorised the early closure of offices across all Ministries, Departments and Agencies to allow public officers take part in the grand finale of events marking the state’s 50th anniversary.
The approval covers civil servants at both state and local levels.
The decision was taken to ensure wide participation in the closing ceremony of the golden jubilee celebrations, which have featured weeks of activities reflecting the state’s history, culture and growth since its creation.
Officials said the move is aimed at encouraging unity and giving workers the opportunity to be part of a historic milestone, while maintaining coordination across government institutions.
Normal work is expected to resume after the celebrations, as the government thanked public officers for their cooperation and commitment during the anniversary programme.
