Nigerians Relieved As Angela Okorie Gets Bail
Relief spread among many Nigerians on Thursday after a Federal High Court in Abuja granted Nollywood actress Angela Okorie bail in her ongoing cyberbullying case involving fellow actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie.
Justice Emeka Nwite approved bail in the sum of five million naira, stating that there was no indication the actress would evade trial and that bail decisions must follow fairness and sound judgment.
The court ordered that the surety must be a level 13 civil servant who will submit an affidavit of means, proof of employment, and evidence of last promotion.
Both the actress and the surety are also required to provide passport photographs, while the court registrar will confirm the surety’s residential address.
The matter has been adjourned to March 23, with Okorie expected to remain at the Suleja Correctional Centre until all bail conditions are fully met.
