The judgment was delivered on Friday in Ibadan, months after the disputed convention held at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba, Oyo State.

The two-day event, tagged #Ibadan2025, went ahead despite unresolved disagreements within the party and drew thousands of delegates and supporters.
The case grew out of a long-running leadership crisis that split the PDP into rival camps.

These internal battles spilled into the courts, with opposing sides contesting the legality of the convention and the process that produced a new set of leaders.
Reacting to the ruling, the party said it remains calm and focused as the matter moves to the appellate courts.

Notwithstanding this judgment, the Kabiru Turaki–led Peoples Democratic Party, which emerged from the Ibadan Convention, remains legally intact and unshaken as we await the authoritative pronouncement of the appellate courts. The rebirth movement remains firmly on course.
