Police Linked To Robbery In Nasarawa
A serving Nigerian police sergeant has been arrested for allegedly providing an AK-47 rifle used in an armed robbery in Doma Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.
The arrest follows the capture of a robbery suspect linked to the incident.
During questioning, Gbata, a suspect reportedly admitted that the AK-47 used in the robbery had been supplied by a serving police sergeant stationed at Daudu Division in Benue State.
Authorities identified the sergeant, who is now in custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Benue for further investigation.
Police confirmed that efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang and recover the stolen motorcycle, with investigations into the case continuing.
