Kano to Prosecute Suspects Over Murder of Woman and Six Children
The Kano State Government has announced plans to prosecute suspects linked to the killing of a housewife and her six children in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.
The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Abdulkarim Maude SAN, said the state would take over the case following public outrage over the incident.
He explained that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf directed the Ministry of Justice to handle the prosecution to ensure justice for the victims.
The victims were identified as Fatima Abubakar and her six children, who were allegedly killed after suspects broke into their home.
Three suspects — Umar Auwalu, Isyaku Yakubu and Yakubu Abdulaziz — have been arrested in connection with the crime, following investigations by the police.
The state government commended the police for their swift response and assured residents that the case would be handled with transparency and due process. Authorities urged the public to remain calm and continue to support security agencies as the trial process begins.
