The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Dennis Idahosa, has dismissed reports suggesting tension between him and Governor Monday Okpebholo, saying there is no crack in their working relationship.

He spoke in Benin on Friday through a statement reacting to claims that some individuals were trying to create division within the state’s leadership. Idahosa said those behind the reports were uncomfortable with the unity within the government.
According to him, the alleged move is driven by people who want to distract the administration from its current focus on governance and delivery of policies under the SHINE Agenda.

Idahosa said he remains firmly aligned with the governor and will continue to support him, despite what he described as online attacks targeting the government and senior officials.
He also called on residents to ignore rumours and stand by the administration, noting that both leaders have continued to work closely since taking office in November 2024, as the government pushes ahead with plans to improve security, health, infrastructure, nutrition, and education in the state.
