Wasiu Ayinde Adesanya, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has appealed to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun over what he described as his exclusion from the process to select candidates for the vacant Awujale of Ijebuland stool.

The Fuji musician raised the concern in a formal petition dated January 8, 2026, sent through his lawyer, Wahab Shittu SAN, to the Ogun State Executive Council. He said the steps taken so far did not follow existing laws guiding chieftaincy matters in the state.
Ayinde accused some leaders of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House of introducing conditions that shut out eligible family members. He faulted the use of nomination forms, screening panels, and delegate-based selection, saying such rules are not recognised by the Chieftaincy Declaration or the Obas and Chiefs Law.

He warned that limiting participation could breed tension and weaken trust in the entire process. According to him, all qualified members of the ruling house should be allowed to attend the meeting and freely nominate candidates.
Ayinde called on the governor to intervene swiftly to ensure fairness and avoid crisis. Despite the petition, the Fusengbuwa Ruling House is still expected to conduct the nomination exercise on Monday in Ijebu Ode unless changes are made.
