Senior figures of the Peoples Democratic Party met with former President Goodluck Jonathan as part of early moves toward the 2027 elections, following the inauguration of the party’s new national leadership.

The closed-door meeting took place recently and was led by the Tanimu Turaki–headed National Working Committee, which was elected at the party’s national convention held in Ibadan in November 2025.
