Rivers State politics took another turn on Wednesday as Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory, declared that decisions already taken ahead of the 2027 elections would not be reversed.

He spoke during a thank-you visit to Eleme Local Government Area.
Wike said the plan was aimed at returning power to the people of Rivers and backing President Bola Tinubu for a second term. He insisted that no amount of money or pressure would change the direction his political camp had chosen.

Wike also praised Tinubu for appointing him as FCT minister, describing it as a rare move for someone from the South-South. He added that development projects currently seen in Eleme and other parts of Rivers had never happened before this administration.
Community leaders at the event pledged continued support. Lawmakers and council officials described Wike as fair and dependable, assuring him that Eleme people were ready to stand with him and follow his lead as 2027 approaches.
