Akpoti-Uduaghan said she is not intimidated by the former governor, pointing to her 2023 victory in the district, which she said came despite strong opposition linked to Bello’s political structure.

She stated that she won across all five local government areas in the zone and chose not to take part in a poll she believed was compromised in one area, insisting that any future contest would favour her.

The senator also spoke about her political alignment, saying she remains with the Peoples Democratic Party even after repeated approaches from the ruling APC and figures close to the presidency.

She added that her next political move would depend on talks with her family, constituents, and party leaders, noting that she could explore other platforms if internal issues within the PDP remain unresolved before the elections.
