Ebonyi State has approved a ₦150,000 Christmas bonus for all civil servants as part of plans to support workers during the 2025 festive season.
Governor Francis Nwifuru made the announcement on Sunday in Abakaliki while addressing workers and worshippers at the Government House Chapel.
The payment will cover civil servants across the state and is aimed at easing pressure on households as living costs remain high.
Nwifuru said the bonus was approved despite revenue challenges, adding that worker welfare remains a priority for his administration.
He also spoke on the Vincent Agwu Nwankwo Flyover, assuring residents that construction is moving forward and will ease traffic and improve movement when completed.
The decision follows the recent increase of the state minimum wage to ₦90,000, reinforcing the government’s drive to improve the living conditions of its workforce.
