Adekunle Ajasin University To Employ All First Class Graduates

Adekunle Ajasin University in Akungba-Akoko has announced automatic employment for 32 graduates who finished with first-class degrees in the 2025/2026 academic session.

The offer will place them as graduate assistants once they complete their National Youth Service Corps year.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Olugbenga Ige, shared the update while outlining preparations for the school’s 14th convocation. He said the policy of retaining top-performing students has helped the university build a strong academic team and ensures its best graduates have a path to grow within the institution.

The VC also gave a breakdown of the 5,799 graduating students, which includes 5,251 undergraduates and 526 postgraduates. Among them are 32 PhD holders, 492 master’s degree recipients, and diploma awardees. He noted that this convocation would be his last as head of the university.

Ige said the school continues to maintain full accreditation for all its programmes and has made steady progress in staff development and infrastructure despite financial pressures. He credited the cooperation of staff unions for helping the institution maintain stability and keep academic activities on track.
