In a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric described the situation as shameful, especially after some government officials travelled to the United States for meetings on insecurity and alleged threats from President Donald Trump.

Ayodele said the president’s foremost duty is to protect every Nigerian, and if he cannot fulfil that responsibility, he should step down for someone who can. He stressed that the wave of attacks amounts to genocide affecting both Christians and Muslims.

He said it is embarrassing that Nigeria must seek help abroad when the government should be using all available resources to secure its citizens. Ayodele added that many people have lost confidence in the president because the government has failed to show it can curb the violence.

The cleric also criticised the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, accusing him of ignoring warnings about impending attacks. He said Ribadu’s failure to act is worsening insecurity and hurting the administration. Ayodele urged the president to caution him for the sake of innocent citizens.

He advised Tinubu to deploy all necessary measures to protect the country, including sustained air operations in troubled areas and relocating top security chiefs to crisis zones. He said the DSS has been proactive but needs stronger support from other security agencies.

Ayodele further urged the president not to dismiss any prophecies or intelligence reports, saying terrorists are not invincible and must be confronted without mercy.
