The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed President Bola Tinubu as its sole candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement took place on Saturday in Talata Mafara during a stakeholders’ meeting attended by party leaders across the state.
Senator Abdulaziz Yari, leader of the party in Zamfara, called for the endorsement, saying the people of the state were satisfied with Tinubu’s leadership. The motion was moved by Senator Sahabi Ya’u (Zamfara North) and seconded by Rep. Abdulmalik Zubairu (Bungudu–Maru).
Yari said Tinubu was addressing major challenges in the North-West, including banditry and kidnapping, and urged party members to unite and ensure the president’s re-election in 2027.
He also pledged continued collaboration with Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle, to tackle the state’s security and development challenges.
The meeting was attended by APC senators, current and former lawmakers, ex-deputy governors, commissioners, and other key stakeholders from across the 14 local government areas.
