The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, announced the decision on Saturday after a marathon National Working Committee meeting in Abuja. He said the suspension takes immediate effect and will last one month pending a disciplinary review.

According to him, the move was in line with the PDP constitution and intended to restore order and discipline within the party.

Insiders said the affected officials had reportedly distanced themselves from key party meetings in recent months, worsening internal rifts ahead of the PDP’s national convention set for November 15–16 in Ibadan.

The suspension also comes a day after a Federal High Court in Abuja ordered the PDP to halt convention preparations over unresolved delegate and leadership disputes.

Ologunagba said the party would appeal the ruling, stressing that preparations for the convention would continue as planned.
