Several members of the Enugu State Executive Council have openly pledged loyalty to Governor Peter Mbah as he prepares to leave the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress.
In a video shared on Monday by Dan Nwomeh, the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, through his official X account, the commissioners and aides were seen expressing support for the governor’s planned defection to the ruling party.
Those featured in the clip included the Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Lawrence Ezeh; the Commissioner for Labour and Employment, Dr. Felix Nnamani; and the Chairman of the Science, Technical, and Vocational Schools Management Board, Dr. Amaka S. Ngene.
Their public endorsement comes amid growing speculation within the state’s political circles about Mbah’s move to the APC. The development follows the recent dissolution of the state’s PDP executive committee and the restructuring of the APC in preparation for his arrival.
Political observers believe the governor’s defection could reshape Enugu’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections, especially as several PDP members and local leaders are expected to follow his lead in joining the ruling party.
