Minister of Works David Umahi has thrown his full support behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections, saying the people of Ebonyi and the wider Southeast have enjoyed major benefits under his administration.

Speaking in a viral video circulated on social media, Umahi said the last election was a mistake that should not be repeated. He argued that Tinubu’s projects and leadership style have brought fairness and unity to the region. He pointed to ongoing infrastructure works as proof that the president has delivered for Ebonyi and the Southeast.

The minister dismissed the presence of the Obidient movement in Ebonyi, insisting that residents would instead focus on the visible contributions made by Tinubu. According to him, the people now see the importance of aligning with a leader who has shown commitment to their development.

The minister also reaffirmed his support for Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, warning that challengers should confine their ambitions to online platforms. He insisted that Ebonyi people would not allow outsiders to take advantage of their state after failing to invest in its growth.
With Tinubu’s legacy projects underway and local leadership firmly behind him, Umahi said Ebonyi and the Southeast have no reason not to stand with the president when Nigerians return to the polls in 2027.
