Addressing the gathering, Tinubu admitted that many Nigerians are facing difficult times but insisted that the economy is gradually stabilising. He compared the current situation to the pain of a medical procedure that eventually leads to recovery, stressing that the country was already on the path to growth and prosperity.

The President also reflected on his long political journey with the new Olubadan. He recalled their time together in the Senate and later as governors of Lagos and Oyo states, describing Oba Ladoja’s impeachment ordeal and eventual return as a mark of resilience and strength of character.

He commended the people of Ibadan for their show of love and loyalty, pointing to the large turnout and joy that filled the streets as evidence of the bond between the monarch and his subjects.

Tinubu prayed for the new Olubadan’s reign to be long and peaceful, noting that his leadership would remain a source of pride not only to Ibadan but to the nation at large.
