Taraba University Student Found Dead In Boyfriend’s Apartment

A tragedy struck Taraba State University in Jalingo on Friday when a first-year student was found lifeless in her boyfriend’s apartment.

The discovery shocked the campus community and raised questions about the circumstances surrounding her sudden death.

The victim, identified as Comfort Jimtop, was a Mass Communication student from Takum Local Government Area. She was reportedly discovered in the afternoon inside the residence, with empty bottles of alcohol near the bed where her body was found.

The incident happened in a compound with about 15 tenants, including her boyfriend, Emmanuel Shata. Witnesses said the entire residence was deserted shortly after the discovery, as both the boyfriend and other tenants abandoned the house.

Police officers from the Taraba State Command later visited the scene but found no one in the building. The authorities have since launched a manhunt for the prime suspect and the fleeing occupants in an effort to establish what led to Comfort’s death.

The state police spokesperson, ASP Leshen James, confirmed that investigations are ongoing to track down those connected to the case. The command assured that efforts are being made to uncover the truth and bring the culprits to justice.

The news has unsettled students and residents in Jalingo, sparking fear and concern across the university community. Many are waiting anxiously for answers as the police work to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of the young undergraduate.
