ADC Moves To End Leadership Tussle In Abia

The African Democratic Congress in Abia State has begun moves to resolve its lingering leadership crisis by setting up a three-man investigative and disciplinary committee.

The decision was reached at an emergency meeting held in Owerri, the Imo State capital, and convened by the party’s Southeast National Vice Chairman, Bon Unachukwu.

In a statement issued by the party’s Zonal Publicity Secretary, Chilos Godsent, the committee was mandated to investigate the crisis, engage with key stakeholders, and interact with all factional groups involved. It is also tasked with reviewing petitions, studying relevant documents, and submitting recommendations for an amicable settlement.

The panel is headed by Dr Uche Edeh, with Chioma Anyanwu serving as secretary, while Chilos Godsent is also a member. The committee is expected to complete its work within 14 days and submit its report in line with the party’s constitution.

The ADC appealed to its members and leaders in Abia to remain calm and support the process. It assured them that the committee’s work is aimed at restoring unity and strengthening the party ahead of future political engagements in the state.
